TRAFFIC is a playful attempt to bring awareness about the street space cars occupy. In the gallery, a wall projection shows abstracted animations of cars coming both from the left and right of the screen. The car data is taken from a real time feed of the cars driving by the street in front of the gallery. Visitors to the gallery are encouraged to step in front of the projector. Their position in the gallery is picked up by a camera and represented on the projection as a silhouette with a visual trail representing the history of their presence and movements. This setup leads to a dance around cars moving at real speeds until a collision with a passing car generates a pile up and erases the visual marks left by the visitors.
